I like pretty men.

I went out to dinner with some old and dear friends last night and some how we Started talking about my actors and how I`ve been watching David soul movies, etc... and they started teasing me about the "Young Pretty men" I`m obsessed with(their terms). It made me appreciate LJ even more. But it got me thinking...

about Laura`s question about why us "older" women seem to like younger, built men. Well I realize that all my life, even as a young girl, I have always been attracted to "pretty men".
Ewan is my least pretty man (wait let me explain) that I ever liked. He is a pretty human being and when he was younger and had long hair and when he was Julien, he was very pretty. Ewan is very manly and can be less physically pretty sometimes, ex, red beard, bushy mustache..., but he is so gentle, and kind, and loving, and happy ,and like I said truly a pretty perfect person.
But usually I like pretty men, with pretty eyes and faces. Cillian is a pretty boy, David Soul is a pretty man, his skin is flawless and his eyes a beautiful and his hair is so pretty. There are others, but I just wonder where this came from. Why I love pretty boys. I also like the gentleness of these men. Have you ever noticed how gentle Hutch is when he is touching someone, he can beat up the bad guys, but when he looks at someone he cares about he is pure gentleness.
This post is mainly for myself, because, I truly wonder why I have been like this from a very young age. Always obsessed with men of this nature.
My RL friends are never attracted to the men/boys that I am, they like the older, manly men.
Oh well I guess I`ll never know, unless someone out there is a therapist and wants to analyze me.

I have no answer for you... but when Starsky & Hutch was on TV when I was a girl I had SUCH a crush on David while all my girlfriends liked Paul Michael Glaser. I couldn't explain it then any more than I can now. LOL Perhaps they just speak to that side of us that was missing a kind compassionate man in our lives. I know that's how it was for me growing up.

You like David Soul too! That makes me happy, don`t ask he why!!! My dad died when I was ten and I have very few memories of him, maybe, I wished my dad looked like David Soul! LOL!
Hey Patty, how have been feeling? Have ya`ll been having as much rain as we have? Today was a really pretty day, I could almost hear the grass growing!LOL!

Oh I had a major crush on Hutch! LOL I used to day dream about him all the time. ;)

I'm doing great Nancy. :D Thanks for asking. Had a fantastic weekend and today was a good day as well... even with the munchkins here. ;D LOL

And yes... we've had rain every afternoon and evening for weeks now! Everything is in bloom and just lovely! And bonus... it's been nice and cool here! Seventies and lower... I'm LOVING it! :D I don't like it when it gets above 80. :P I tend to hibernate in the "refrigerated air" when the real Summer heat hits.

I really need to do an update on my own lj... I just haven't felt up to it for some reason... almost like writing out what's been going on would even bore me. LOL

We had a beautiful sunny day today... no rain yet but there are thunderclouds in the distance. Perhaps by tonight. ;)
