Help! Is there any computer heads out there that can help me with my icon problem? Crazy4ew made me two beautiful ewan icons. I saved them to my computer like I always do and then tried to put them in my lj icon place. It kept saying that it was the wrong file or change it to a png, gif or jpg file. Well for an computer illiterate like my self that`s like speaking a foreign language! If you can help me I sure would appreciate it. They are so lovely I want to use them so badly! Thanks, nancy

you are "right clicking" right? then choosing to "save as" and specifying the format (.jpg) if it is not showing up automatically...

try this: i have had similar problems, i just 'rename' the file i saved on my computer to a different name, then load it up to user pics with that new name and it usually works...

Hi! When I right click and push save to...mine only says art file or bmp. bitmap. I don`t see anything else. I will try to rename it. I hate to discuss things like this because it shows how slow a learner I am with computers. I have been a member here for a long time and never posted a pic because I`m not smart enough to figure it out! I graduated before computers!

mmm.... what software are you using?

did you try loading the icons into your user pics directly from the url i gave you up there??? that should work... I will leave them there for as long as you need them

when you insert a new user pic, you can choose to give the URL address, so copy the addresses above (one at a time) and paste in the box then click proceed... that should work...

once we get this baby sorted out, i will help you with posting pics... once you get the hang of it, it's quite easy...

i have been having problems with my computer too... can't seem to access the C drive of all things!!! all my stuff is there... I'm on the phone with Dell now, listening to some lousy musak! grr

Hi! Sorry you are having computer problems. Have you tried restoring your computer to a time when it was working. That fixed one of my problems a while back. Thanks again, icon Queen!

yep! immediately deleted cookies, temp files, ran a full-blown virus scan... then tried a restore, nothing worked!! i've contacted dell, awaiting response. my e-mail seems to work, which is good! the problem is, it shuts me out, everytime i try to access a file, it burps and shuts the system saving settings!!!! so then i'm screwed!
and not in a nice way....!!!! hehe
