August is just flying by, my life is flying by and I haven't really done anything.

Time keeps on ticking ticking ticking into the future...
Well in four days my daughter will be on a plane to Paris where she will dwell with strangers for a year. One whole year until I see her in the flesh again.

My house is filthy, truly filthy. I am sending thr hoodlum boys to mow instead of me because I have to clean this house, so that they will have a clean house to mess up.

I got a haircut and it is cute, I like it. It is not short and a little bit straighter than I usually wear it. I like it.

I wrote this long SH story and my editor told me that I had all the characters voices right except that I wrote a wimpy Hutch. Ouch, that smarts! I don't want my Hutch to be wimpy. I will rewrite it until I have the strongest most beautiful Hutch ever. Man that bums me out.

My mom is having a little problem with her heart. She has been on beta blockers for a year because her heart beats too fast. She went on a cruise and was gone for two weeks and when she got back her heart started messing up again. They put her on a stronger med and now she has the shakes. Do you think it is because the dose is too high or that it will just take her awhile to get used to the new meds and strength?

Signed Hoodlum son up for the GED program that I was so excited about in my earlier post, they accepted him. Then they called yesterday to tell me that he can't get into the classes because he is only 16 and he would need a court order to be allowed in. Well thank you very much for busting my bubble.

So what's in your wallet?

I have to take pills because of high blood pressure since 16 years. Since 2 years I have to take 4 different pills (one is a beta blocker too). I got used to it. If your Mom has the shakes I think the pills are not working. If they would be too strong she would be really calm, maybe if it would be really bad she'd pass out. But there would be definitely no shakes. Sometimes it takes a bit time till they start to work. For me it's a bit problematic, because I can't tolerate most of the pills and the ones I tolerate mostly are not strong enough. So I have to take this pill cocktail. Sometimes it takes some time till the doc finds the right pills for you.

Thank you for the advice I passed it on to my mom and she finally called her doctor!:P

Sorry to hear about your mom. Perhaps she should go back to the doc and let them know about the side-effects?

She had called but hadn't heard back from him yet. I told her to keep calling.

Me again, and oh sorry about your son too. Life just seems so unfair.

He never seems to get a break, but who knows maybe someday!:P

One of my brothers took the GED. It was not too tough, he found it really easy. If your kid keeps studying, and stays busy, maybe working, he'll be able to take it soon. Hang in there!! :)

I'm real sorry about your story.

I know editors can have great insight, but don't forget to write what YOU like. It might not suit everyone. (You really can't please everyone!!)

And I don't know what to say about your mom. I hope she's keeping in touch with the doctor about these symptoms. :(

Hi Allie! Thanks for the advice. My son's dyslexic and very poor in math, so taking tests is very hard for him. I just hope he can pass it someday. As for my story, my beta was right. I was concentrating so hard on getting the crazy person and Starsky's parts right I just kind of made Hutch too quiet and it came across as making Hutch seem wimpy. I love my Hutch and I am just going to have to write him a little more active and tough.
Hugs!

Man, I'm sorry about Young Tough. It's got to be frustrating as all get out.

What's in my wallet? Not much. Had my first payday, today for the temp job. But it only included 1 1/2 days, since I didn't start until Tues after lunch, and then had to take off Thurs & Fri.

But at least it's something, and I can still collect unemployment for that week.

Man, I'm sorry about Young Tough Thanks for the sympathy, he never seems to get a break, but I guess when you walk down the hard road, life is going to be hard.

Hang in there, things will turn around! I am just glad you are finally getting to work.
