I love all of you on this LJ!

You know I don`t have much of a life lately on the outside of these four walls, but I know that if I didn`t have all of you crazy friends on LJ I would be crazier then I already am. Anytime you deal with people and personalities there is going to be drama and clashes of ideas and feelings, but that is what makes the world go round! It would be boring if we all thought the same, dressed the same, liked the same things. I think that is what I like most about this place, I get a smorgasbord of people and I am exposed to things I never would be in my small West Texas World! Once again I love you all and come visit me and tell me something weird about yourself that I don`t already know!
I`ll start, I am afraid to travel alone. Some of you know this so it is not new to you, but I really have trouble in this area. That is why it is such a big deal for me to be going to Vegas Con because I am really getting out of my comfort zone. So if you are going and I look lost you will know why!

You made it to Albuquerque just fine, remember? :) It's only a hop, skip, and a jump away from that. Vegas is a fun town. Hope you have a great time!

You`re right I did make it, but I knew you were going to be waiting for me and I was staying in your home. This is a big step because I am staying in a Hotel and it is going to be a bigger kind of thing, but I know I will be alright! I am just a weirdo and I worry way too much about silly things.

Fear of traveling is not weird, lots of folks have it. At least you are making the effort, and you'll have such a wonderful time!

Hey Nancy - a lot of people have fear of traveling and a lot of them travel often. Fear is an age old protective mechanism to be careful. It's definitely not wrong. Only do control your fear and don't let the fear control you. You will make it!!! I'm sure! Hey - I really like your new icon. But I hate how Van treated Hutch like a little boy with this gesture.... :)

You can do it! Traveling by yourself can be fun--because you can pretend to be someone else and no one will know the difference.

Something weird about myself--I hate to go to the beach. It's the sand. I love looking at the ocean or bay, love the views, but the sand--I cannot stand getting it between my toes, up my unmentionables, in my teeth when eating a sandwich.

And we're supposed to meet friends at the second most foggy beach in the area tomorrow. cold AND sand. yippee

Just returned and I am very grateful that Baker Beach was not the arctic ice flow that it was two years ago, the last time this friend had a mid-summer in SF beach barbecue. It was foggy and chilly, but a thick jacket was enough, and it almost warmed up by the time we were leaving at 2:30. The beach was gorgeous--all wind-swept, gray, the Golden Gate Bridge rising up to the right through the fog bank, but luckily the picnic area was protected behind trees.

Weird about me? Not sure if I've mentioned this before, but... I always wear socks inside-out. I can't stand that seam across my toes!
